Electrical work

This is also a part of the engine room. It is here that I have been most busy for the last seven days. At the top of the picture is the new 12 volt electrical distribution box which I made and fitted. The wiring within this box is all new and neat and replaces what used to look like a plate of red and black spaghetti.

The grey box to the left of the 12 volt box, is the 240volt distribution box. This comes from shore power or from my generator, depending on whether I am in a marina or at anchor.

The gauges, taps and pipes below the new boxes are all refrigeration controls. I have a 90 litre fridge and a 305 litre freezer on board, which are kept cold by an engine driven refrigeration compressor. I also have a 40 litre, 12 volt refrigerator onboard.
