The Cockpit #4
This is how the cockpit looks now. I have stripped and oiled all the teak, fitted the new table to the front of the steering pedestal (it is hard to see from this aspect) and resprayed the compass and binnacle (which is positioned on top of the steering pedestal).
Now it looks beautiful...and if at sea, a few tonnes of green water comes across the cockpit, it won't smash through into the engine room.
After working as hard as I have needed to for the past four decades, it is time for a break. There is sailing to be done, a book to be written, beer to be quaffed and places to visit.
My boat is ready to go, I am studying Japanese language, amongst other things and I have developed a reputation for effectively teaching didgeridoo.
What greater honour could be awarded than to have aboriginal people now coming to me for didgeridoo instruction.
I swim, I cycle, I play squash, I learn, I play, I have the occasional beer and I blow a mean didge.
And....For reasons which I cannot fathom, めろぢ seems to think I am a wonderful bloke.
Can't whinge!
